As a leading independent developer, owner and operator of renewable energy assets, sustainability is at the heart of our operations.

Supporting a clean energy network
We believe the ability to generate and store clean energy is essential to the creation of a sustainable energy system. Our developments utilise the latest technologies to help decarbonise energy networks.

Improving biodiversity
We take every opportunity to build in additional measures such as extensive tree and hedge row planting, wildflower planting, bird and bat boxes, ponds and landscaping enhancements which ensure biodiversity net gains on our developments.

Working with communities
With every development we build, Harmony Energy works proactively to identify local community initiatives and facilities that we can support. We encourage local people to put forward causes that we can support.

Supporting local causes and events
In addition to providing specific funding for local community projects, Harmony Energy has sponsored a number of local causes and events. These include:

  • The Brownlee Foundation for their 2022 series of events helping promote sport and active lifestyles in primary schools throughout Yorkshire
  • The Harmony Energy Run Harrogate 10k 2022
  • Puffins Galore, a campaign in East Yorkshire to help promote environmental issues and support the protection of wildlife

Battery energy storage systems (BESS) are the key to unlocking the full potential of intermittent renewable energy; the more renewable energy that is connected, the more important the ability to manage its intermittent nature becomes. Harmony have 42MW/84MWh BESS operating in the UK, with a future 326MW/652MWh in build.
