Harmony Energy installed a WES50 72kW turbine in October 2013 to help reduce the restaurants dependency on electricity supplied through the national grid. In the first year the turbine has produced sufficient electricity to cover 60% of the buildings electricity requirements. The restaurant covers up to 200 people and is open 7 days a week.
“The wind turbine has made a significant contribution towards our energy requirements and has helped us become less reliant on fossil fuels. The customers appreciate the fact the we are running in a green and sustainable manner and it is often a talking point. We have a good wind resource here, so having a turbine made sense both economically and environmentally.”
